Artist's Statement

Art is sort of a tricky thing to define, particularly in this era of obsession with aesthetic design. Maybe it's always been so. For me, art is a way of explaining myself. It's a way to lay things out in order, to tell a story, to capture a feeling, to share something otherwise intangible. In my view, art is useless unless it communicates something, whether that something is a grand statement or perhaps just an odd thought.

My communication tends towards details and moments; little things that can be easily missed, lost, or never considered in the first place. It also heavily favors whatever I feel like creating at the time, so expect outliers.

My process relies heavily on imagination and emotion, and a sincere dedication to the actual undertaking of "making art". Besides that, it's a bit difficult to quantify; I'll just say that it involves late nights, frustration, lots of half-finished disasters, and near constant consumption of music.
